# Could be summa to this...
But when has a child been harmed by rhubarb in garden? I find no incidence stats. Its about oxalic acid- same as spinach or sorrel: In a 56kg person, '5 kg of the extremely sour leaves would have to be consumed' to reach LD50 [sayeth wikip].
ie- even playing with a hand-crank juicer, my juvenile-idiot cuisine was no danger. The stuff tastes that awful.
But another reason why adults should eat all the spinach. Save the children!
