i usually keep different save files of gifs' PSD filesso i have a photoshop file, but then i save it under different names at different points, in case i decide against something i spent the last hour working on, or in case i want to change something later and can't physically undo ~200 actions.
for this gif, i had the original gif, then one which erased the weights and most of the bar with a mask, another that erased the bar fully, another that had the bags but on their own layers for each frame, then another for what is the final image. after i save the image and am happy with it i could delete all of these, but i'm a hoarder and keep them all just in case. glad to see it paid off!

Hmm, I'm not sure actually. I finished it last night and posted it to reddit. Then this morning I got out of bed and realized "those folks at b3ta would probably enjoy it too!" Next time I make something fab I'll post it here 14 hours before anywhere else to even things out a bit.
