I was wondering why we don't call carrots oranges seeing as we had the veg before the fruit
The internets tells me 'Before the late 15th century, the colour orange existed in Europe, but without the name; it was simply called yellow-red'
I think this is obvsly bollocks because we don't call carrots yellow-reds, shirley we'd have called the colour 'carrot'

Too clever Smash my brains borked
"Carrots Used to Be Purple Before the 17th Century"
That's 200 years after oranges were introduced, even so we must've had a better name for orange than 'yellow-red'
