# I don't want to seem pedantic, because you've obviously gone to a lot of effort
but wouldn't the signs in the rear view mirror be facing the other way, i.e. on the back of the signposts from this point of view?

# Yes, indeed they would in real life. However, this is in fact what we call, pretend.
It's commonly referred to as, 'autistic license' I do believe.

# You'd see the backs of the signs on the lft hand side of the road
and the fronts of the ones on the right

# Ahh of course!

# Apparently the original photo was taken somewhere in Germany.
So your right and left would need to be reversed, and the mirror images of the front of the signs on the left hand side would need to be in German. I haven’t indicated on which side the driver is sitting, so I think I can get away without having to shop that bit.

# They probably wouldn't have a Union Jack spray painted on the tarmac either.

# Well, you never know.
I like it anyway.

# Why isn't it raining in the mirror?
(, Mon 30 Mar 2015, 16:31, archived)
# The rain is allegorical and denotes that, in going forward with the Conservatives, the future may not be quite as rosy as they paint it.
A full analysis of this picture is available in my book, "What the shuddering fuck are you on about?"

# Well, it's too brown, and I don't like the font.

# tl;dr
However, your image is ace! :D

# Or you could just say they are driving in the wrong direction too...

# At last, someone who understands!
The whole image is of course an abstract metaphor for the extremely frustrating circumstances that we find ourselves in today. While we are presented with the illusion of moving forwards, we are in fact simply reversing the wrong way back down the same tired old one-way track, in a vain attempt to avoid the ominous storm front that is rapidly descending and threatening to destroy us.

I hope that clears things up a bit?
