I used to do that in high school, but fucked up the exam, cos all I had was a packet of wax crayons. I wish I was making this up...

they told me all equipment would be provided for the exam, then when I got there, they had seriously underestimated the amount of equipment they had, and I ended up with just a packet of wax crayons. I shit ye not.
up until that point, I had got damn near 100% on every exam in graphics I ever did...

that was the first thing I thought of when I got my results. Damn it was tempting. It also just happened to be the week all the fire extinguishers had been taken to be refilled cos people kept emptying them in the corridors....

but its not actually a point! its just the convergence of the other two points! otherwise youd have to add a point for every set of lines you drew that converged.
(, Mon 12 May 2003, 13:55, archived)
doesnt use three points. You start by drawing two points on the page, then all the lines must come from those points. the third "point" in that example is just the convergence of the the lines. Its not actually a point because none of the lines come from there. Its kinda hard to describe.
(, Mon 12 May 2003, 14:03, archived)
vertical lines in that example come from the third 'point'?
Sorry, I'm sure I don't know nearly as much about this as you, that's why I can't really argue - I just remember being told about this at school, and I want to know if I've been wrong all these years : )

and I did a single point perspective thing. It was from Independance Day. Like a cockpit view of the huge motherfunking ship thing that hovers over the cities, with missiles hitting it n stuff, but my art teacher said it wasnt arty enough, and made me colour all the buildings in stupid colours like pink and purple to make it look more abstract...

we also learnt about Pythagoras theorem, Archimidean screws, and how to copy Rembrants and Cannalettos. However, we found that these things were useless when we got to Secondary School where use of calculators, biros, and "how not to get the shit kicked out of you by bullies" were actually much more important.
FACT.
