# ThreadJack!
Sorry, but imageready won't let me optimize a jpg. I want to make it a gif but it says "NO!" Is there any way around this?

# isn't imageready an animation package?
and jpg a static image format?

# Yea
The problem is that I've already made the animation from an original jpg. I guess I'll have to start from scratch, no worries!

# have you set dithering to 0
reduces filesize quite nicely that does.

# Hmm
I would have if a) I knew what it was, and b) I knew how to do it. No worries, it wasn't very long or complicated anyway, I'll have it finished again in a jiffy (please not I avoided the pun 'giffy')

# listen to this lad
he speaks the truth

imageready cares not a jot what you used to make the animation out of - if you want to save as a GIF though, you need to set GIF in the optimisation window panel, then select "save optimised as" from the file menu.
