they wont activate the accounts till term starts. You have to go down to the library on the day of your registration (i think) and pick up a cd and network lead. You need to have a network card in your pc, otherwise you cant get on. I believe they activated the accounts 3 days after term started.

it took me about a week to get my fuckin internet workin up there, cos i didnt have a network card, so foolishly I bought one from the uni for £70, then found out they sell them for a fiver in town, so if it doesnt work, dont get one from uni. I had the internet for all of the first term, then right at the end, my PC fucked up completely, and i lost everything off it. didnt have internet access for second term, and got it fixed by third term.
other thing is, the network really doesnt like any pcs that are using windows ME, so id suggest changing it if you have that...

i left uni for the summer with about 5000 posts. i did about 500 the whole summer, and then when i got good internet back at uni, i did another 500 in a week or two.
