# Ghost Street
I used to go out with a lass who lived on Vicarage Terrace in Cambridge. It used to be called something else, only it was bombed in one of the world wars and when they rebuilt the street they felt the need to rename it in honour of all the dead people. I'm not a massive believer in ghosts, but that house was F***ing weird - overnight cupboards in the kitchen used to open and it wasn't just dirty skavving students nicking food - I closed a cupboard myself one night, was definitely last to bed and two hours later when I went to fetch water it was open. Also, if you spoke to any of the other households on the road they could either report first hand similar experiences or just regurgitate everyone elses. Preconceptions leading to a perceived ghostly experience or not? I never decided. But that street was a funny place.
