my mum...
..has the most exaggerated remote control usage movement ever. It involves holding it out from the body with forearm extended parallel to the ground, pointing it very accurately at the appliance being controlled, bracing onself for the big button push, then making a jabbing movement which comes from the shoulder, usually whilst grimacing for no explicable reason as if being poked with a stick.
