# in the wild?
i'd get nothing done at all! i'd spend all my spare time out watching the otters. it's hard enough for me when i'm sitting at home watching the squirrels in the garden.

# Indeed
in the wild. They're very hard to spot being nocturnal, of course. But you can see their runs etc and fishy meal remains.

# we found the burrow of a platypus
when camping once. they're quite rare to see in the wild now (this was in australia). disappointed that i never saw the actual platypus, but i saw where it lived, saw its dam and spoke to some guys who'd seen it.

# That's marvellous
I've seen nothing else particularly interesting.

Awkward silence.

# "yeah, there was a platypus round here earlier

"it's gone away now though. nothing to see here, mate."

# well
it's probably all their fishy meals what gives 'em the runs. poor little fellers. that's why you don't see otter laxatives, i expect.

# the female otter
can be quite territorial - you don't want to be messin' with her man.
