I've just learnt all about them
aaah, the power of the web. They are brine shrimps. Apparently, they can't survive in the sea as it's not salty enough, but live in salt lakes etc. Scientists have in fact used them to study how their eggs survive extreme dehydration and temps. It is a type of sugar, you know, they are engineering human cells to do it.
