for todays stupid act of consumerism
I bought a top of the range phone with a 14 billion gazillion pixel camera

of course, by the time I walked out of the shop with it, it was out of date! lol, so I threw it in the bin and went back in and bought a newer one

looks like another shopping trip tomorrow!

With regard to phones, i'm going retro with my next purchase - a Nokia 8810.



Most modern mobiles are either butt ugly, or weigh a ton/are massive (some notable exceptions of course)

I sometimes still use my Alcatel 511
It's smaller and weighs less than most people's bluetooth headsets.

that's the thing
around that time, mobiles were really small and light. Now for the most part (samsung sliding phones being the main exception) they are getting bigger and heavier as the manufacturers try and include more technology like better cameras etc. As much as I love gadgets and electronic novelty items, I just want a phone to be a phone. harumph.

Yep, I have a decent mp3 player and a decent digital camera.
I don't really want shit versions rammed into a slightly ropey phone.

my new phone (a 6280) feels like its made of lead
compared to my old 6610.

I generally don;t bother with snazzy phones cos they confuse me, but I got a contract, so I ended up with the decision of "buying the best one i could get for nothing"

so i have, and its quite fun.
