# The strength of American beer
is legislated by the state government thingy where the beer is sold. 3% by volume normally.

In New Orleans, Louisiana, Heineken is absolute piss water.

The Jack Daniels measures make up for it, like.

# I live in the US and had no idea that was true
Luckily it's hot in New Orleans so you'll naturally drink more. There are also blue laws in some states (no alcohol sold on sunday). I moved from San Francisco to a small town in Illinois and as amazed when I went to get a bottle of wine and found the liquor section of the supermarket actually yellowtaped and tarped over. I learned to just make sure and buy it Saturday night.

# Sometimes...
...it's brewed under license in the country where it's sold. I think the UK's is brewed in Warrington (or is that where they do Smirnoff?)
