I decided to buy a Wii

I pre-ordered mine to avoid this situation.
Unfortunately, everyone tries to ride the whole "you can't have it, even if you want it" wagon these days.

Sony seems to have rode it into a ditch, at least nintendo and microsoft got off early enough.

I think the position with Sony
is that whenever they produce it, for pretty much whatever price, they'll be able to sell it. I don't think they're bothered about timing any more.

I think they make less than is demanded
so that when they all sell out a lot of people wont get one.

Then when they go to their friend's house and see it, they'll Really, really want one.

Thus demand goes up.
