edit: It's not the size - it distracts the eye all the time. Rob said a while back that he had no intention of creating colour icons, since this would just make the board a confusion of colour and distract from the actual images being posted. I understand the reasons behind it, but see it as a pointless task. Tags can be removed by anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of the crop/clone tool.
