Kinky Friedman is actually a country and western singer who plays at being a detective every now and then.
He seems to mainly spend his time talking to his cat, smoking cigars, spitting out cracking one liners and not really doing all that much.
Thats makes 'em sound crap but they are really well written and very funny.
I've read the one I mentioned above and 'Stepping on a Rainbow' which is set in Hawaii.

i used the word 'may' - so i have the choice to kill you...OR NOT... and i have cheeze whiz (imported from canada) and toast - and my eyes hurt from only 3 hours sleep, so i'm partially happy (for food) but dont have the energy to kill, nor the energy to maim.

and my network is broke. and my network covers USA+UK...timezones of arse. meaning i never sleep coz im fixing stuff. therefore vast amounts of sugar are required. and drugs. drugs are good. ibuprofen is my drug of choice at moment.

i just been told im not allowed to claim overtime anymore. but if i dont DO the overtime, ill get sacked for network poop. arse.
