just installed XP this week don't laugh and now not all the gifs work and when I try to save them it insists on saving them as BMPs.

your tempory internet folder in the options on IE6 then double the size of it
that should fix it, might need to re-start IE after tho

On the subject of interweb temp files, make sure you close all the browsers bar one, and go tools and find the "delete internet temp files" ( mind the cookies unless you dont want them ) and then, if that dont work go to "advanced" and make sure theres no silly option in there. While your there, I got IE6 to stop that silly "auto resize" rubbish as it quite frankly was pissing me off, the option to stop it is in there ;).
Dont make you temp file bigger, it just allows IE to steal more harddrive space. Be sure to actually check the temp folder manually also as it sometimes completely ignores your efforts to empty it and leaves them all there anyway.

The "suggested" Microsloth solution is just to delete all your temp Interweb files - don`t bother with resizing your cache.
/edit there`s also a "do not cache encrypted files" thing in there somewhere that needs to be switched on if it isn`t already (although it probably is)
