# Thanks,
when I get home I'm going to draw Kagura.
I didn't bring my tablet with me today.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 13:54, archived)
# When you say "draw"
are you actually drawing these or just tracing over screencaps? Just out of curiosity.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 13:55, archived)
# are screen caps like the ones you get on rolls?
or the new shiny disc ones?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 13:59, archived)
# I loved the ones on rolls
unfurl them and drag a stone across the lot in one go :D
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:00, archived)
# I did that at lunch time with my friend Harriet
she caught her hair on fire and we had to get the lunch monitor to pour custard over her firey tresses
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:03, archived)
# HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I would pay money to see a child set their hair alight with caps.

Am I wrong to feel this way?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:04, archived)
# Well I was going to vector them, by drawing over them and making them look exact,
but I thought "If I'm going to do a tracing job, I should at least make it more artistic"
So I sketch the outline, and I sketch all the colours without using any paths or fill tools.
Yukari's hair took bloody ages.
I also decided not to just cut it off where it finishes in the original, I finished Yukari's hair off outside the borders and I made it look as if the borders have been ripped off.
In the one of Yukari, I tried to make the edges like the curls at the bottom of her hair.

Does that seem like I'm not putting much effort into it? Because I am.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:00, archived)
# So you're tracing over screencaps.
:p
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:02, archived)
# Yeah.
My defence is that I'm terrible at drawing anime from scratch.
I spent ages trying and settled with that.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:03, archived)
# It can be a bit cheap and deceiving, though, really.
I mean, people say something like "Did you draw this?" and you say "Yes" and they're all like "Wow", but actually if you had said "No actually I kinda traced it really" they might've gone "Oh, well, okay that's still neat I guess."

I'm in no way saying tracing is bad, by the way. I don't want to control what people post on b3ta. That'd be STOOPIDS.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:10, archived)
# I'm not trying to be deceiving.
But that doesn't mean I haven't drawn it.
And it's not as if I've put no effort into it, because I have.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:12, archived)
# well then don't call it drawing.
problem solved.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:11, archived)
# Well I still drew it, didn't I?
"Did you draw that?"
"No, it magically appeared of its own accord"?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:13, archived)
# Jamaica!
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:16, archived)
# "Did you draw that?"
"No, I traced it"
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:17, archived)
# But it's still the physical act of drawing it!
Tracing is a kind of drawing!
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:22, archived)
# It's not, though, is it? It's a kind of copying.
You insist it took time and effort, but that time and effort was spent tracing over something which took far more time and effort. IT'S DILUTING. THE DILUTING OF EFFORT. EFFORTLUTING. AND LUTING TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT. D:
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:29, archived)
# when you say "draw"
do you mean like drawing the curtains or drawing breath? Just out of curiosity.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 13:59, archived)
# Curtains,
when someone draws breath it's harder to see.
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:01, archived)
# when you say "breath"
do you mean breath as in breathing or breath as in lisping tit?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:02, archived)
# *Awaits Heavy Hindenburg*
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:04, archived)

do you mean "tith" or "Jamie Oliver"
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:05, archived)
# who's Jamie Oliver?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:08, archived)
# He's the guy who sets your lunchtime menu
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:09, archived)
# When you say Draw
do we have to whip out pistols in a face off at Noon and shoot each other while a saloon door quietly moves against the low rumbling winds of Dodge City, and whilst the dry tumbleweed of fate briskly moves in the background
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:02, archived)
# When you say "whip out pistols"
Do you mean penispenispenis?
(, Wed 2 Jan 2008, 14:03, archived)

wanting to buy a bucket. She explained to the guy in the shop that she wanted it for checking the size of tights to make sure they fitted her. Apparently, the bucket was the same size as her thigh!
