I see the "and" as the divider between 50kb for stills and 200-250kb for animations.

you have to be fairly stupid to associate the phrase 'rarely over 50kb' with 'up to 250kb is acceptable' in that way. Plus, it's common sense to try and optimise a file which (you hope) hundreds of people will have to d/l.

for the sake of it. whatever the faq says, if someone who is a board regular tells you that it means the limit is 50kb for stills, then the limit is 50kb for stills. and if you argue the point, you're technically a grammatical wanker.
and i don't care if i start sentences with 'and', because i end them with 'grammatical wanker'.
