# "For file size, a still image will rarely need to be over 50KB and an animation should preferably be under 200KB, but anything up to 250 KB is acceptable."
I see the "and" as the divider between 50kb for stills and 200-250kb for animations.

No he is not.

# Even if he is
you have to be fairly stupid to associate the phrase 'rarely over 50kb' with 'up to 250kb is acceptable' in that way. Plus, it's common sense to try and optimise a file which (you hope) hundreds of people will have to d/l.

# no?
I interpret the second and third clauses as modifying the first, and the third as modifying the second..

or should one ignore the second comma?

# you're just arguing
for the sake of it. whatever the faq says, if someone who is a board regular tells you that it means the limit is 50kb for stills, then the limit is 50kb for stills. and if you argue the point, you're technically a grammatical wanker.

and i don't care if i start sentences with 'and', because i end them with 'grammatical wanker'.

# hey, I'm not arguing, I'm discussing a matter of grammatical pedantry.

and no, it's not even slightly important. : )
