It's the awesome filtering through your system.

God, the lecture theatres stank after we'd been in there.

You've been here for a while, can you shed any light onto why this isn't on the front page yet? It's better than most of the fucking in-jokes that end up there.

if a mod would wants to see an images on the front page, they do a click and does approve it. Then a magic happens and IT APPEARS! And everyone is angry and bitter and does a big fights with words and clique THE END

That was my understanding of it from a layman's view too.

'i like this' popular page for the odd mod that shows his face in here now and again. These days rob just forwards 60% of the popular page there and if he is short he fills it up with his mates images.

Some transparency would be nice, though.
Oh, wait a minute! It is really fucking transparent already. I don't know what I'm arguing for anymore.

but IMO the fp is absolutely not the point of b3ta, and it's definitely not worth getting upset or angry about.

I'm not upset or angry, it just annoys me how some extraordinarily average images make it there while some amazing things don't. Personal choice, of course.
I'm really just in a bad mood because I'm on day 5 of stopping smoking, just ignore me and I'll be nice and fluffy again in a few weeks.

Regarding the images on the fp, my personal preferences aren't always reflected there either, and some images that I think are very funny/silly/clever and appropriately 'b3ta-ish' get overlooked. But the mods express their personal tastes and preferences exactly as any of us would if we were mods. Plus they're not here all the time, and stuff that's great but doesn't make it to the popular page (for instance because it's posted at a quiet time, or in the middle of a very busy board) sometimes gets missed. It's a shame, but it's not even nearly enough of an issue to spoil b3ta for me.

to be honest the whole point of b3ta, to me personally is not even b3ta itself. It's this board. I never visit the main portal, i have never visited any of the silly games and if it was not for the links appearing for qotw and the challenge on this site I'd never see those either.
If the FP was based on a true unique voting system and was open to all images and not just something for a cheap laugh or the sort of quality animation produced by only a few I might take more interest in it.
I see the problem with it now is that it is down to the personal choice of a few and limited to puerile humour or way above average animation talent. There is no room for anything else.

these are wise words, and I would like to endorse all of them.
(So if I keep licking your arse, will I get an FP or what?)
(, Fri 11 Jan 2008, 21:43, archived)
having an FP on that basis are slightly lower than me ever becoming a mod and being able to have the luxury of deciding to FP you.
Edit:// I must add that none of this spoils my enjoyment of the areas of b3ta that I do take an interest in. I love this board for it's diversity, the social aspect and the odd wondrous image it shows up. There is more talent collected here than many places could boast and coupled with the fact that the majority of posters are intellectual adults with interesting things to say makes it my first visit every day.
(, Fri 11 Jan 2008, 21:47, archived)
and to say that I love you all. Even the ones who appear not to be intellectual adults, and who resort to using bizarre non-sequiturs as comebacks when you get involved in an argument with them.
mentioning no names, although there may or may not be sixty-nine of them.
