Well, she goes a little mad when he rejects her like this... then Hamlet (accidentally) kills her Dad (Polonius), so she goes quite mad... sings stupid songs, talks to plants, runs out and drowns herself. And all because Hamlet was a bit embarrassed at being caught talking to himself (the "to be or not to be" soliloquy). Well, he wasn't exactly the model of rationality, our not-so-great Dane. That's what inbreeding does to your head...
