I don't want an OS which required that much RAM.

I've not noticed any RAM hoggage.
In fact, several apps I use are faster (especially those that do video conversion, image editing, and gametap)

Except for Firefox but that's probably because I fucked the extensions up a while back.

I might go and get another 2Gb or RAM though, just to be sure.

And then stick my old copy of XP on it inside of Parallels.

i once had to put xp proper
on a Macbook as the owner didn't like Mac OS.

She only ever used it in Mac OS once, and I couldn't be arsed explaning everything to her.

Vista isn't as good as XP
But it does the job.

People used to ache for Windows 98 for a while if I remember rightly.
