Liking the songs and liking the writer are two different things.
I like a couple off the wall, but that album was epic fail for him.
He did, however, make up for that previously with Animals and Meddle.
However, nothing compares to the lyrics of Sorrow. Except possibly Echoes, but that goes without saying.

waters did take things a bit too lyricsy

but the wall was a masterpiece methnks (although it's a bit long winded)
gilmour was too clinical on his own - pink floyd only works properly with gilmour and waters together
