It should be a wiggly, rather than flat baseline.

If anyone remembers Barbarossa's tale of a mandelbrot rug from the Nerd QOTW, it's been updated with a picture and is most woosome.

Most of her characters seem to be funny the first time you see them, but they don't develop and get repeatedly recycled to death. It's a problem that seems to afflict numerous sketch shows IMO.
In good news, first Futurama film is out on region 2 on the 7th of April I think.
See me drool like a dalmation regarding a ham.

AVI format for 5-6 weeks. You'd have been welcome to a copy, you may as well wait now for a nice boxed version.

I didn't even know there was going to be a film. Excellent.

they are being seriallised in the US (not sure how well that'll work).
Also I'm unsure of my spelling of "seriallised"

so that you can come back later and say "see, that's why you're stupid"
i'm still only 50% in agreement over all the homeless Us, though.

but to fair they are just as effective as communicating their meaning as the originals are.
"Lazer", however, can fuck right off.
It's an acronym, yanktards.

"lazer" will get you just as much of a spanging here. i promise you that much.

Who doesn't despise her?
She's making a living by taking the piss out of the very idiots who watch her...

Besides - she's only where she is because her boyfriend's the DG of the BBC or summat.

was mildly amusing. Three series is taking the piss. She has done some alright stuff, and I'm interested to see what she's like on Dr Who, but frankly, if she ever does 'Gran' again I'll start cutting myself.

Just change the channel... it's much simpler

I turned nu-metal when they cancelled Birds of a Feather and prior to that I was Goth circa 'Duty Free'. I was mostly rockabilly during One Foot in the Grave.

If it wasn't for the canned laughter I would have had no idea it was supposed to be funny. Therefore I agree with this graph.

Tate and her comedy. I just don't watch it. Like any of these sketch type shows ( her, boosh, Little Britain, 3 non-blondes and the spin-off, Bo Selecta et al ) When they are new they are fresh and quite often hilarious and well deserving of a 6-8 episode run on BBC3 or Ch4 but then some mental case has the idea that they deserve another run and another and another until you end up hating it with a passion because there is only so many times you can hear the same tired joke before you want to kill people.
Very few sketch shows can pull off a long run. Bring back the fast show is all I am saying.

that flippin' bingo advert Vic's doing the now is funnier than a lot of the stuff you mentioned above.

I loved those two. I do however think I might be disappointed if they came back in a similar format. I think that level of insane mentality was just right for the 90's.
I think I might do a Lloyd Grossman picture now.

were far better than things like Little Britain and Catherine Tate in my opinion. But perhaps the new sketch shows can see the weaknesses of variety.
Edit: ... and although the Fast Show was good, it kind of gave birth to catchphrase comedy.
(, Thu 13 Mar 2008, 14:02, archived)
they were shit, but there was at least more variety... *props up flimsy argument*

At least the League of Gentlemen knew when to quit. Same goes for the Fast Show. Have a listen to "Down the Line" or whatever it's called on Radio 4 for Whitehouse and Higson comedy gold.
