save still gifs
(Paint will knacker gifs, you can save a blank gif and then draw on it with reduced colours or you can use a website such as Cellsea to save them, but with a bigger filesize) Bung the still gifs in UnFreez (which doesn't need installing, you can just run it) and then optimise using Trout's gif optimiser
