So I'm looking to increase my knowledge of image manipulation and so on, I've been using GIMP for ages but I really don't know much about the finer points. I spent yesterday learning about layers, and I think I'll find it very useful. This evening I decided to try and find out what a layer mask does.

I just realised that I typed "GIMP mask" into google.
