This is a normal post Calpol?
I would have thought that 2 doctors, especially who have been so belligerent in their own defence in public, would be quicker to point out that calpol is just paracetamol and doesn't contain any sedatives.

Or were they too busy trying not to to look guilty to think straight?

This is a normal post Nah, but Medised does
and every doctor I know with kids uses it (it's great!)

This is a normal post Calpol
Calpol, it's an 'infant suspension' and if used in excess can have very strong sedative effects.

high enough to give you liver failure.

This is a normal post When I used to babysit, a lot of parents would say they had 'dosed them up on Calpol'
so they wouldn't be any trouble... how reassuring, I always thought. I think the doses were generally large...

This is a normal post oh dear
not only is he touching his face, as sure sign, he's also looking to his right - which is another subconscious indication - looking to the left is looking back in time to remember an incident that happened - to the right is a sign that you are looking into a fantasy future.

I've read Derren Brown's book. Well, not all of it, I'm stuck on memorising two decks of playing cards. I've only got one, and they are rather fruity, and off putting.

This is a normal post But as Derren says in that book
You can't interpret peoples signals unless you've established a baseline of normal behaviour to compare it to.

I have seen this video though and I did notice the same things.

How foolish are all the people who made videos/webpages/have pictures up in their windows going to look.
Plus, someone will probably knock them off before they go to trial anyways. They'll be the most hated people in the World.

This is a normal post Not that anyone is going to read this but
There are some great meds used in paediatrics for sedation that are not routinely known about. First, Vallergan. Its an anti-histamine that has a really strong sedative effect on kids...zonks the little shits right out but the dose is pretty standard.

The other (and the one that sprung instantly to mind if I am honest the minute I saw these people harping on on TV...Ian Huntley and Billy Joe Whatshernames Step dad anyone? Want to appear innocent? Go on telly!) was Chloral Hydrate. www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/chl02.htm.

I think it's a bit early but I am putting in a pre-emptive AICMFP.

This is a normal post Vallergan
First papa from the first result for Vallergan...

Vallergan tablets, syrup and forte syrup all contain the active ingredient alimemazine (previously known as trimeprazine in the UK). Alimemazine is derived from a group of medicines called phenothiazines, and is a type of medicine called a non-sedating antihistamine. (http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100002712.html)

But then later ...
Alimemazine is called a sedating antihistamine because it enters the brain in significant quantities and causes drowsiness.

Alimemazine is also used as a pre-med in children to produce sleepiness before operations. It is given one to two hours before the anaesthetic.

she's moving constantly (if only very slightly) until he gets to the Sedatives bit, then she freezes and seems to be staring at the reporter to see if she bought it. As soon as he finishes the sentence she starts moving again.

This is a normal post Seems like an application of
Occam's Razor to me - what's more likely: a kidnapper who doesn't know the family just happened to see them on the beach, followed them back to their apartment, knew that they'd left all the kids alone and the door unlocked, knew which room was Maddie's and removed her without barely a sound OR two clearly negligent parents weren't careful enough, their daughter died and they tired to cover it up...

Anyway, whether their telling the truth or not, surely they should at least be prosecuted for leaving pre-school children alone in an unlocked apartment while they went out for a meal.

This is a normal post Christ almighty.
That set my lie detector off big time.

Like the other post, they should definately be taken to court for child abandonment. Had they been poor and in this country it would have happened, I know this as my niece told me it happened to someone who popped to the shop next door to their house for less than five minutes and left a sleeping infant and a slightly older child alone.
