MMA seems to me to be a sport that has disposed of all the restraining rules and restrictions of boxing, Taekwondo, judo, etc, and took what remains to create something that is pure vicious street fighting. From what I know of the sport, a lot of those MMA fighters have had pretty volatile lives. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of a misunderstanding. Frankly, they scare the shit out of me.

I guess it's a trend which is influenced by the easy access to violence in films, video games and via Internet, can't do much about it.
