I worked with a guy
who used to work at the steelworks in Magor, Wales. He was always taught the simple: If you hear the emergency siren, you stop what you're doing and fucking run.

I think this is where the furnace outlet gets blocked and has to be cleared by means of an explosive charge.
The alternative is to let it create its own much, much, much bigger explosion and then rebuild the mill.
