...the point is it all divvies up into 'nice' numbers that you can achieve with balancing scales instead of trusting someone else's weights. And you can factor Time into it as well.

these do seem like 2000 year old problems
I cant remember the last time I saw anyone weighing stuff to sell with weights. The butcher is about the only place I get asked how much I want by weight these days
