Can't forget my trip to Mexico
I went to Cancun on an honeymoon about 15 years ago. The local Walmart (they have Walmarts in Mexico) was selling Tequila for about $10 a bottle. We went on a trip to Chichen Itza and the bus stopped off in some ethnic bullshit native Mexican tourist trap where the same bottle was on sale for $60. We didn't buy a thing but some people were carrying shopping bags of stuff out.
Everyone in Cancun was a bunch of mercenary cunts. The tour never asked if we wanted to stop at some shitty concession, they just did it unannounced. Even the hotel we stayed in confiscated some beers we bought in Walmart with the excuse they might attract vermin. Despite them selling the same beer for 4x as much. Even when we landed in Cancun airport they had passengers run a gauntlet of timeshare operators and scumbags were loitering in the toilets asking for a tip because they turned the taps for people who went for a piss.
I guess that's what happens to a country when it lives next door to the USA. If you visit Cancun just be prepared for people ready to subject you to every scam in the book.
