This is a normal post As much as I loved the earlier LOG stuff,
it unfortunately became a franchise that followed the law of diminishing returns.

Some of the subsequent projects by those involved haven't convinced me that this will turn out well...

This is a normal post Inside Number 9 is very hit and miss,
But it's good to see the television play format being given a small revival and a bit of risk taking by the writers and commissioning editor.

but I think that the strengths of earlier incarnations of that format were that they generally weren't all written, directed and acted by the same people.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the guys, I just think they demonstrate the limitations of their abilities all too often.

except for the last episode, which really felt like it had been rewritten hastily when they were given a second series.

This is a normal post All the gags were there with interesting characters but I don't think that the story really held its own.
That said, I really do like the majority of what they do, happy to forgive any occasional lapses, and this is good news in my eyes.

This is a normal post I am and I agree, series 2 was excellent and I'm glad there was one
it's just that end episode of series 1 just felt like such a fumble its what annoyingly sticks in my head.
I should probably watch it again and change my mind completely
