Well with the pound where it is we clearly aren't in the short term. But this is a long game.
The Remainers are the same people who said it would be catastrophic not to join the Euro currency when it launched. The pound fell significantly then too. They have been proven wrong then, and they're wrong now.

I always thought keeping the pound but having EU membership was the best of both worlds. You're inventing a 'they' that doesn't exist.
