I don't disagree with most of that,
But I'd say that it really doesn't matter who came up with the ideas originally; If Corbyn were to become PM and put socialist policies in place, would he be a failure because all his songs are Karl Marx covers?
If Farage's aim was to be a career politician then he should be seen as a failure, but that was clearly a means to an end. The only reasonable measure of success is to examine someone's goals and whether they have been achieved. His only stated goal has basically been achieved, whether it was his doing or not.
