I loved the 'bullet time' thing in the first game. Seem to remember that it wasn't long after the first Matrix films so it was a nice link-in.

I want to like it, as i loved max payne 1 & 2
But the setting and baddies leave me cold, and they seem extremely generic and 'seen it all before'. Even Max's look is generic - vest and bald head.
Ive shot south american druggies with AKs in favela's loads of times in games.
The first 2 were hardly original in story, but it was handled well, in that noir / comic bookish kind of style.

They've taken the defining feature of the first two games - the noir setting - and binned it. It now looks like generic shooter #43.

It looks fucking incredible, also the multiplayer aspect is apparently better then the main game.

The idea of using bullet-time in online multiplayer is very interesting.
