This is a normal post Short version, we're cleverer than animals because we ask questions and imagine how things could be
So if we don't we're wasting our gift.

This is a normal post But how do you know we weren't supposed to waste it?
That's a human viewpoint, man. What does the universe care if something is wasted or used efficiently? What's so special about being special? THINK ABOUT IT!

This is a normal post To take the computer analogy, if the nexus is a universal consciousness that exists as pure energy interaction at the quantum and macroscopic level, without an actual physical body involved, then we can think of it as the master computer program
then we would be it's organic add ons. We're wet ware meat robots. The whole point of us is to take bits of the pool of consciousness on a day trip to a physical world to touch, see, hear, interact, experience what it is to be individuals with a finite existence, and a consciousness that enables us to realise the over view of our limited existence, and then, when the day is over, when sleeping, report what we learned transmitted down the wire to the aforementioned nexus (central processor) to be evaluated, and receive our rewards or punishments for our actions in the form of dreams, nightmares, or solutions to our daytime issues, making adjustments to the meat puppets, who make adjustments to their world, which changes their experiences, which then, when they sleep, changes the nexus, the point being eventual improvement of the whole machine and its ability to continue its existence better from all we've learned and shared together as a whole.

Basically we could be the universes context, it's reason to exist, to stop things getting boring and make sure it's going in the right direction.

Nobody actually knows what sleep is or why we do it. Prove me wrong that that hypothesis above is the answer.

Anyway, to get back to the question, regardless of whether we're the puppets, or this is all just how it is after billions of aeons, or in the future we are our own techno god or whatever, why the fuck would the universe as observed presently be remotely interested in someone who sat and did and thought fuck all of any consequence, it has a million false starts in the form of animals and all the other lower life forms for that, relative to us they're wind up automaton, fun, but not likely to change the state of an entire planet by choice or anything. We can do that, and it would change things so massively the universe couldn't not notice. If we all just sat and watched the world go by without ever making an informed decision to change something we'd literally be wasting the entire point of our own incredibly unlikely existence.

If the universe wants to feel and develop same as any consciousness and we're the organic probes it's using to decide what to do with itself then the above hypothesis would explain so much, particularly about why we all feel there must be something more than 'this' and strive to understand or contact it.

Fuck the Matrix, I could write a hell of great script from this shit! As do many many others, time and time again, chems release the creativity, give us all the great ideas for scripts, tech, philosophy, art, music, etc, then we hide the spliff, pretend it was all us and take the credit....

Erm. Profit!?
