By what criteria?
As a species we've been highly successful.

A few thousand years ago we were prey to predators now we're trying like hell to save those same predators from extinction.

We've populated every corner of the globe.

We are becoming as gods in our knowledge of the universe and how it has come to be.

Can adapt to any environment including space.

We can communicate our thoughts and ideas far further than any blue whale.

In just a handful of generations we'll be travelling not just to other planets but to other stars.

Some of us may be moral garbage but as a species we've hit the big time.

And fire! What other species has managed that? And we did the ages ago.
