You may be surprised but editor of the Standard, despite the fact it's a freebie, is a big deal journalistically. I will be reading the tone, leaders and city pages much more closely.

Not quite.
It's formerly the same publisher, sure. There are similarities, obvs. It's now owned by some russian type. But it was pro remain. It doesn't do immigrant scare stories. Cares not for X causes house prices to rise, as how could they get any higher?
Doesn't tell us we're all going to get cancer, as we smell and inhale those fumes all day long.
It has given both former mayors an easy ride, and hasn't said a word about the new mayor dropping more than a few pledges.
And apart from anything else, I like the easy crossword.
