This is a normal post I was listening to Farming Today
I know, I know, I really am an incredibly interesting and exciting individual. Anyway they had some daft prat talking about how she treated all her livestock with homeopathy. Given that I think any effectiveness of homeopathy is purely psychosomatic my gast was well and truly flabbered. She then revealed she did all this alongside conventional antibiotics etc. Stupid fucking hippie.

This is a normal post I think there maybe a legal angle on animal welfare.
She really did believe the whole homeopathy malarkey; she was evangelical about it, so not quite Pascalian, just belt and braces.

This is a normal post Brilliant...
Does any one know where I can pick up a copy of "Fuck it, I don’t need medicine" magazine sounds like a good but slightly irresponsible read.

This is a normal post I had an argument
over Christmas with a homeopath. I didn't really want to, but he insisted.

His argument was essentially that there was no way I could say it didn't make sense or didn't work, because it's not like we understand absolutely everything about how physics work.

I did point out that we didn't need to understand. That robust trials of whether it outperformed placebos or not in trials would be good enough anyway, but apparently the medical establishment is out to destroy alternative therapies so there's no way you could ever have a fair test.

This is a normal post I posted an satirical Homeopathy link on the other internet once
and was disappointed to discover many of my circle of friends either come up with the "Just because we don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't work" argument or the slightly less ridiculous but still stupid comment of "My brother/sister etc. has *insert problem here* and homeopathy worked for them"

This is a normal post I'd argue that the
"Just because we don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't work" argument (#1) is actually less ridiculous than the "My brother/sister etc. has *insert problem here* and homeopathy worked for them" (#2).

The reason being that #1 is logically sound, but irrelevant. That argument is technically right: homeopathy ISN'T bullshit because of their flawed understanding... it's bullshit because studies have shown that it doesn't work.

#2, however, is just hearsay, with no logical postulates whatsoever.

This is a normal post homephathy = placebo
it DOES work for those fools who believe on it.
and it can't be refuted by science until science can explain the placebo effect workings.

This is a normal post Placebos don't work unless the problem is psychological, i.e. stress related etc.
No amount of placebo is going to cure cancer.
