For some reason, I always watch your vids, and they are - as far as I can tell - nicely done. As an insight into a culture of which I have no knowledge, they're kind of fun, too.

One question, though: for whom are they made? Is the idea simply to give attendees somewhere to see themselves? Here's the reason for the question: each iteration is very similar to the others - the same sort of people, in the same sort of costume, pulling the same sort of pose. If the point is to allow the people in the costumes to see what they look like, then that makes sense. If it's for others... I have no idea where I'm going with this (not least because I'm one of those others, and I do watch them!). But do you see roughly what I mean?

What's your target audience?

I mean, someone who never worked on the film dressed up as a character. Once you're dressed up, what then? do you pretend to be that character?
Essentially they're all playing make believe, and isn't cosplay just another name for dressing up? Same thing to me. Just with grown ups.

I mean, if they're watching shows then it's be super awkward sitting there all dressed up.
And the effort! just to copy a character from a film, it's like they have no idea about the whole merchandising thing they've bought into in a big way.

let's not even mention the attention seeking whores getting their asses out for the geeks, they're there for business.
Something wrong with the whole scene, it's sickening in every way.

Though I am curious how you personally have made the leap from 'I don't really understand this myself but at least people seem to be enjoying themselves without harming anyone' to 'ban this sick filth'.

Well, to be fair , I never said ban this sick filth. More just looking at adults taking something too far so that it becomes creepy and childish.
If I were honest, I'd say my main problem is with the level of devotion to branding from these huge companies. All of this is to make money by selling crap to gullible people. And they buy into it in a mental way, look at the video, this is how far it's gone so far.

As for audience, it's a mixture I guess. I mean we like making videos so thats first and foremost but if we had to say what audience we're aiming for its a mixture. We like to show off the hard work of the costumers, try to show how fun the hobby is to outsiders. At the end of the day the only goal is to hopefully entertain the viewer for 4 minutes.

That said, I love that video technique you use. I was at the Star Wars celebration and couldn't help but love the effort people had put into their cosplay.
