The next time you see a politician open their mouth, ask yourself if they're really independent.
Do they accept donations only from organisations completely aligned to their clearly stated policies, or do they allow donors to influence policy and political decision making?

Well obviously.
But at least their is some, arguably not enough, but still some, legal obligation on them to declare their interests and publish the names of their donors. Charities and NGOs are becoming increasingly politically vocal, but they don't declare their interests or donors.

They may start off with good intentions about wanting to change things for the better
But as soon as they get anywhere near to doing that the Establishment and Vested Interests move in and assimilate them. They then think "what's in it for me" and won't want to rock the boat. It all ends on the front page of the Sun.
