Correct response to this is actually to form a minority group of individuals with malfunctioning ocular apparatus and campaign relentlessly for a board wide referendum on the issue.

This is a normal post where's that tit who felt subjugated by the words 'European Union' on his passport?
Really we need his opinion to fully gauge the significance of this news

This is a normal post "Under EU procurement rules, the Home Office had been required to throw open the bidding process to European firms."
So when it comes for renewal we can be all patriotic and source it here at a higher cost if we really really want.

But really meh, not fussed.
Shall we move on?

This is a normal post 50m saved is 50 less tax
It's part of the EU rules that we have to open it up, so blame the EU :-)

Seriously though, this will be another May u-turn and it'll be given to a UK company in the end.

This is a normal post The firm who currently produces UK passports does it in Gateshead
£500m will pay the wages for a lot of people in Gateshead for a long time and they will all pay income tax, they will buy luxuries and pay VAT. They will buy houses and pay stamp duty. They will drive cars and pay road tax. They will raise children who will go on to care for our old people and pay tax and NI themselves. I'm pretty sure all that tax will far exceed 10% of their income. I certainly pay more than 10% tax. £450m to France just disappears and those people in Gateshead who lose their jobs will stop paying tax and start claiming benefits.

Christ I'm beginning to sound like a leave voter now. Maybe Corbyn is right about brexit.

This is a normal post But that £450m doesn't vanish
The French will buy some British roast beef with it.

Rather buy a Lotus, a Rover or a Vauxhall.

The Liberal Democrats’ Brexit spokesman, Tom Brake, said: “The blue passport saga is turning into a farce. First it was established that we did not have to leave the EU to have blue passports. Now we learn that the passports will be printed by a foreign company. And to add insult to injury, we will pay over the odds for them because the value of the pound has fallen since Brexit and they will have to be imported.”

This is a normal post David Schneider nailed this one.
"On passports, I still think the best idea is to let people choose their own colour:

Maroon passport = you can continue to travel freely, work and live across the EU.
Blue passport = you can’t do any of that but you have a blue passport.

Everyone’s happy!"

What's this? International free trade saving taxpayers money despite Brexit? Do your little brains hurt Benny & Dinny? Still, something to whinge about, eh?

These money savings were obtained by using our current rights as EU members to access to the common market.

Just to point out the bleeding obvious.

This is a normal post This contract is set to run well after we leave.
Sent from my Chinese manufactured Korean phone I bought in the EU. It was very tough to get hold of, and super rare because it's prohibitively expensive. I'll never know how they accessed the Holy Grail that is the Single Market.

This is a normal post £120 million saved and 70 uk jobs created.
Hard to argue against it.

This whole story is in the news because of the boss of De La Rue is throwing a massive hissy fit.

Either his firm is way less productive than the Franco-Dutch one or he thought the government would be forced to use his and bloated the bid. It's even worse given the devaluation of the pound against the euro.

Sounds like he was playing silly buggers and got burnt.
