This is a link post Variations sur le Carnaval de Venise

Alright dudes? I used to play the trumpet and learned about half of this piece when I was at uni - it's a technical piece (Arban is like the Paganini of brass), and it gets progressively more difficult - it's a total bitch. Haven't played properly in about five years but have started learning it again :o/

(As a non-musician) I couldn't see what was so hard about it until 6:18 when it went a bit nuts. Good luck Hex.
Edit: Ok, so I might have skipped a bit *blushes*

This is a normal post That brings back memories.
I made it all the way through the Arban's book. I remember playing the Carnival of Venice when I was just a child. I wondered what the big deal was, as I'd never heard the other arrangements. Trumpet is not an easy instrument. I finally put it away. I picked it up a few years ago, and enjoyed it. But I've forgotten everything.

[Edit] Ok so fair fucks, he's a bit good. Love the intake of breath and the 'fucking hell, here we go' looks on his face too!

The Arban Method book is for a wide range of instruments including the cornet. Also, trombone get it in a non-transposing key. Have look:
