An important lesson for the kids
This website is hilarious.
I particularly liked this article where a concerned father teaches his kids a valuable lesson about not eating foodstuffs manufactured in states that don't hate gays enough with the aid of fag ends, cat poo and a dead rat.
"Next time somebody offers you a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s vermont Ice-Cream, imagine they just asked to sodomize you and your kids while videoing it for a “gay interest” channel watched by French homos . Then tell them what you think about it."

Chinese Leapfrog Game.
Ronseal Description:
Apparently, this is a 2nd grade computer test game in China. The idea
is to simply get the frogs to switch places in under two minutes. It
seems to be one of those games where you either "get it" straight away or your computer gets it's first flying lesson. I'm still trying
at this time & my 'puter doesn't have a parachute :-(
EDIT:- Where's my F*****G TROPHY??? Managed it on about my 12th attempt.

It got me thinking about series and patterns in mathematics
Say the series 2, 5, 10, 20, 40, 80...
What is the rule/formula to get that string of numbers.
You start at the first number and work out the various ways you can get to the second then see which of those ways also gets you from 2nd to 3rd number and 3rd to 4th etc.
Oh god it's early morning and this has turned into Sesame Street.

Finding strange patterns was good and the more complex rules you found could be simplified
This was before I was introduced to algebraic equations etc as a means to simplify things.
One of my favourite maths facts is that if you take ANY number I can tell you if it's divisble by 9 in the time it takes to add together all the digits in it until you end up with a single digit.
eg 892857048728481 = you can remove (skip) 9's as you go also, so you add 8, skip 9, 2, 8 (= 18 so reset to 0) 5, 7, 4, 8, (skip 7, 2), 8, 4, (= 36 so reset to 0), 8, 1 = 9.
That's advanced. If you just add all digits you get 81 then add those you get 9.
So it's divisible by 9.

Actually, scratch that
I remember at the school before we had actual computer classes where we could play around making programmes in BASIC and I would debug basic BASIC games the older years had made.
But this was the first use of computers as an aid to another subject that I had.

this was funny in bits when first saw it, and it remains that, after 2 showings, over 10 years? it isn`t improved very well by time and not like spinal tap as like the people I`ve worked intermittently with as a tech for over 20 years.

Well, some of us retain a certain affection for it.
Just as some of us retain the basic literacy we achieved before the age of 10.

I think you'll find the video footage shows him making his own way towards the water so therefore I plead not guilty to whatever charges you're insinuating, m'lud.

Okey dokey
This bit of Thailand I was in, there were many of this type of tortoise. The locals actually sort of farm these ones for a strange little ritual. What they do is allow them to grow up in rice paddies and lakes, and once they reach maturity, the locals go wading through these lakes to fish them out so they can sell them on the market. The point of them being sold on market is so that whoever buys one, they can then take it to a designated lake and give them their "freedom". Thing is, the lake is a place where the stall holder then later goes back to recapture it, so somebody else can pay for its "freedom".
Point is, this little bugger was from the same family as the ones being dragged up from the paddies, ponds and lakes. They all lived in and out of the watery fields and such.
The only difference with Cuddles is, we didn't put him in a lake where he could be recaptured. We put him in a lovely little lotus flower water field, which is apparently a stretch of water where you are forbidden from entering, and was one of only a few in the area.
Swim or not, these breed of tortoise (or turtle, I don't know) live in and out of water. So Cuddles, he is safe and I'm quite sure that right now he's having a lovely time.

it's evolved to live both in water and on land...

Ooh good man
I just spent a month out there. Greatest time of my life. Totally depressed to be back home, so now I need to start thinking about doing something with my life so I can move over there.
Cuddles was found in a little town called Bua Yai, which is a few miles outside of Nakhon Ratchasima. So kind of heading towards the North East, but still quite central. Tippity top area it was.
