even the people doing it were close to the characters facially. Noted were Loki, Brendan Frazer guy from The Mummy, Jubilee, Gambit etc. Unusual to get very close mimics rather than 'fat guy in a spidey costume'.

True, which was why when the long bow was invented and given to the plebs it was seen as unsporting.

Longbows weren't a "pleb" weapon.
Linemen required quite a bit of skill and training.
The much to use crossbow was much more a pleb weapon.
What the French frowned upon was that the Longview gave people that weren't part of the chivalric tradition the ability to mesa with their knights.
Supposedly that's where the British flashing the v comes from.
The French would remove the fingers of captured bowmen. Ones that still had them would flash them as a sign of spite.

historians often say that the crossbow was frowned upon because it gave any tom, dick or harry, with little training, the ability to take down a knight

Reminds me of something crazy I read the other day about speed reading...
The reason most of us are fairly slow at reading is that we process it via our speech centre, and 'hear' the words being read. But, try reading a page of text and try to force yourself not to 'read out loud' (internally). It's a bit weird, and takes a while, but suddenly, you can read paragraphs at 4 or 5 times the speed.

This isn't a route that will end up with mass access to space. It's hard to see how this technology could even be expanded to put a single human in orbit.
Elon Musk is on the right track - his stated goal is to get to Mars. Everything that SpaceX does advances progress towards that goal. That's the right direction - not a five minute vomit comet ride for those with too much spare cash.

Formidable Halloween music
I heard this in a church once, and it was wild. It just builds.

It's political correctness gone mad!
When UKIP win the next election & Nigel is the PM it's going to be cunt, motherfucker, fuck, cocksucker and nigger non-stop for ever & ever, thankfully. Common sense policies for common sense people, that's what I say.

House for Sale: Organ included.
This modest residential house has a rather large organ. Really tolerant neighbors in that neck o' the woods.

about 10 years ago they were dismantling an organ from a church in my local town and dumping all the wooden pipes in the skip outside. everyone started removing them from the skip and walking around town blowing down them, it was a bizarre noisy day with blasts of pipe sounds floating over the city. We filed the car with them and flogged them at a car boot.
