Well worth it, although the initial kit can be bit expensive.
Brewing wine is even cheaper as you don't have to worry about Co2. You need a bin, a kit and bottles.
Beer needs a pressurised barrel which is about £45.
Wine kits are easy but your own country wines are even easier and cheaper. Currently got 2 gallons of nettle wine on the go :)

(1) Naz Shah MP (Labour) said that she thought Jews in Isreal should be relocated to the US to form a new state there.
(2) She was suspended from the Labour party, despite apologising, owing to this being an obviously anti-semitic thing to say.
(3) Ken Livingstone (Labour) did an interview, where he didn't say anything racist or anti-semitic.
(4) However, he DID attempt to defend Naz Shah, claiming that SHE hadn't said anything racist or anti-semitic, which was so obviously not the case.
(5) Now people are mixing up the concepts of BEING racist, and being an APOLOGIST for racism, so Livingstone appears to have been suspended for being racist, when he should have actually been suspended for being stupid.

However the fact is Israel does now exist. Should the U.S. and U.K. et al have helped create it back in 1947? I would argue that they shouldn't have done. But hindsight is a beautiful thing. I don't think the international community can now say to Israel "Sorry chaps, this isn't really working out, you've had a good seven decade run, but now it's time to pack your bags." But on the other hand the settlers going outside the original borders is IMO unacceptable.

Well, Jews have the earliest written claim because a lot of other cultures had no tradition of writing shit down.
They wrote a book that said they were God's chosen people (why anyone would ever take umbrage to such a claim is beyond me!) and that they were there first so it's theirs.
Now, the only proof that they were indeed there first is the absence of any other written record or archaeological evidence contradicting that.

The BBC's coverage online has hardened significantly since the story broke and Ken started digging deeper as he toured the studios (LBC, Daily Politics, World at One etc). After the disastrous first interview at LBC that sealed his fate the headline read "Livingstone attacked for defending MP in anti semitism row". Within an hour the word attacked was changed to criticised. Now the line is he has been suspended because he's been a naughty boy. It took them over two hours to come round to that point of view. They went easy on him for as long as they could.

I've no love for Ken
In fact I think he's a complete arse. However I can't help but feel deeply uncomfortable about this. Criticism of the actions of state the of Israel is not the same as criticism of Jews. It requires careful handling because it's a sensitive area and I think that's probably where Ken fails as that interview shows him as a bit of a dinosaur.
What the others were suspended for was clearly beyond the pale, but I'm failing to see a single thing he's said there or indeed anywhere as genuinely antisemitic.

Xenophobia is a phobia of the unknown or alien. Racism used to be about discrimination against people on the basis of race, most usually on the basis of colour, creed and ethnicity. And technically speaking, unlike Islam, Judaism is a race, as it is passed on via the maternal bloodline.

were aimed at making the police better at handling and recording racism claims (be they valid or not) and stopping the police from being institutionally racist.
Power plus prejudice is a redefinition of racism. The old one is still there - Shit as it is: see Article 1 of the UN's ICERD.
As far as I can see micro-agression is just racism or sexism etc.

I really fucking wish that people would put as much thought and effort into the proposed plans to leave the EU
as they did in the run up to the Scottish Referendum. I'm fucking glad the vote went to the 'No' camp, Scotland gaining it's independence would have been a fucking disaster. The Scottish Government might not be as corrupt as Westminster, but fucking hell they're clueless.
However, leaving the EU would be significantly worse for everyone involved than some daft wee country deciding to become independent and making an arse of it, but nobody in Scotland at least seems to be giving two fucks about it right now.
