I've been caving a few times and hated it. And I've scuba dived which is awesome because fish. The combination of both is abso-fucking-lutely terrifying.
There's a huge playlist of Sid Perou docs which takes you right through the history of cave diving. I've posted his first documentary. They get even scarier.

Sid Perou lives in the same village as me.
Trufax. His series "Beneath the Pennines" was enough to scare me out of ever going potholing, and there are lots of places to go up here in the Dales.

Gawd, I love caving. Why'd you hate it?
My brother was a professional diver & did a lot of cave diving....it would scare the shite out of me.

first time...
and I ended up 45 degrees downward in a the water in squeeze dead end, with my legs out of the water and someone pushing from behind. Yes, we'd missed the hole we should have gone down. It wasn't very long apparently as my legs and feet communicated the situation pretty well, so I'm told.
Basically, it's squeezy bits - climbing and wandering about in the dark is fine. I did go a few more times but nah.
I have done a small amount of overhead diving including one wreck and that was fine, actually. I couldn't handle the long stuff at all though.

I can't get into caving
Squeezing myself through a tiny crack underneath several million tonnes of rock scared the shit out of me every time. Banging my acetylene headlamp on the rock whilst doing so one time, ending up in the pitch black made me nearly do a little poo.

If you fall, the force of it may break you like a cork in a bottle
Fuck you, soft spoken 60's voice-over man, stop using terrible metaphors to make me imagine falling into a V shaped crevasse inside a cave and getting all squished up and unable to move.
I know you enjoy making me feel like this, I can hear it in your voice.
