No problem.
Fun fact, when they moved all copper coins to steel they had to make them a little thicker so they weight the same.
Obviously the royal mint cares more about people given short weight rather than the slightly extra cost to make a thicker coin.

yeah because base 10 numerical systems are so fucking confusing aren't they?

Actually more confusing than base 12
To make it really work, we need 12 numerals. Lot's of mathy boffins think this would be a great idea

There is something to be said for Imperial Units
It's always easy to divide by 2 without access to accurate scales; therefore 1/4s, 1/8s, 16th, etc. are also simple. Try dividing a Pizza into 10 equal slices without a protractor.
A Stone is 14lbs, or enough bread or meat for 8 men for 2 weeks at 2oz per man per day.

No, really, there isn't.
i. If it's so easy to divide by 2, why do I suddenly have to divide by 14?
ii. A trader who can't afford a set of scales in this day and age is a fucking crap trader.
iii. 57g of meat per day? On yer bike grandpa.
iv. Units have nothing to do with how many people want to share a pizza.
v. Having spent my formative years computationally modelling and balancing Sea King rotor systems I can assure you I can still divide a circle into five equal parts to within ±3° by eye, so ten is not a problem.

...the point is it all divvies up into 'nice' numbers that you can achieve with balancing scales instead of trusting someone else's weights. And you can factor Time into it as well.
Don't blame me, blame the Roman Army.

Almost as bad as imposing a system of weights and measures on a nation that didn't want it.
And make it illegal to offer both for the sake of those too old to adapt.
Just to add one more sodding layer of conformity.

I think like many people my age
I use both systems. I 'get' miles per hour and distances on that scale. Up close and personal I use millimetres. 2/5 of an inch is too much like algebra if I have to add or contract, let alone multiply or divide. Weight, if it is my weight I just use whatever system gives the lowest number, other than that I go by price, as I do with petrol and wine.

what she/he said
I don't really understand km, I don't really understand kilos, but I'm happy with cm, inches, metres, yards, feet, litres, pints. I'm forever thankful that we have decimal currency and my butcher doesn't complain when I order a pound of sausages. Just use what feels, like, good, man!
