: PUNK KITTENS SING THE WHITE STRIPES
  aka The Rathergood Corner

Joel Veitch runs a site called Rathergood.
He's our mate and we love his deranged work.

  Joel writes -
"This week I've been listening to the pop
group The White Stripes. They rock. I thought
they'd rock even more dressed as cats.

  "Now they are."

-------------------------------------------------

: THE TWATLAS
Learn how to swear in foreign.

Like all good ideas - this one started
  in the pub.

We were talking to the Australian Channel V
presenter Andrew G and he said, "Remember
when a foreign exchange student came to
your school - all people wanted to know was
how to swear in other languages?"

"Wouldn't it be great if you made a web page
  to teach them?"

How could we refuse a challenge like that?

-------------------------------------------------

: NEW WEEBL AND BOB THING
  "Gallery"

Jonti has been busy. He's made a new cartoon
in the Weebl and Bob series.

This one is all about a painting competition,
  oh and pie.

BTW: Remember we told you that Weebl was
undergoing a name change for TV? Apparently
it'll be "Wobbl and Bob". Cunning.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Name a kitten, Bunny anim, BT Abuse, Vomit

  >> Pub Fight <<
Have you ever wondered if Kylie could beat
Madonna in a pub fight? Wonder no more.
Crazymum has built a site where you can submit
two photos and web users can vote. It's Pick
  the Hottie meets Fight Club.
http://www.pubfight.com/

  >> Name a Kitten <<
Tomsk and Phil are getting a couple of kittens.
They want suggestions for a name. There's
already some great suggestions on the page.
Our favourite so far? 'Cut & Paste'
http://www.tomandphil.myby.co.uk/kitten/index.php

  >> Angry Bunny stop-frame animation <<
Bean has been taking photographs of his fluffy
bunny and gluing them together in this cute
animation. AD AGENCIES! Rip this off now. Like
you normally do. Wankers. (Note: Big download.)

  >> Abusing BT for fun <<
This page has been banned from the Internet
Kiosks at Waterloo station. It's designed
purely to suck bandwidth - and one night
generated half a million hits. Elliot - who
made the page - is very proud.
http://www.elliotcooper.com/loop.html

  >> Photos of a man vomiting milk <<
Malky is planning to launch a new website full
of "pointless things." And they don't get much
more pointless than this - he drank a gallon of
milk, puked and photographed it. Respect.

  >> Are you on the blob? The results <<
A while back we conducted a survey where we
asked you whether you were menstruating. And
now? We have the results. Sunday, 18th August
was the blobbiest day in the world.

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> Pull my finger <<
It had to happen. Someone has made a page
with a big finger on it. Click it? And it
makes a fart noise. Kids will love it.
http://www.whitetrash.nl/pmf/

  >> Knitted album covers <<
These tiny knitting patterns feature album
covers - including the Aphex Twin, Michael
Jackson and Human League. It's fluffy pixel
  art. Charming.
http://www.sewkits.co.uk

  >> Japanese Asciimation <<
A few issues back we linked to something we
called "Japanese ascii penis kittens go wild."
We've found another work in a similar style.
It's not as rude - but it's very beautiful.

  >> Turn your dead relatives into coral reef <<
Following on from "turn your dead relative into
a diamond" - you can now encase your granny's
ashes in concrete and drop them in the sea.
This seeds fresh coral growth and provides new
homes for fish. Much better than a diamond.
http://www.eternalreefs.com/cremains.htm

  >> Interactive cat animation <<
How cute is this? It purrs! And it'll swipe
  at your mouse.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from Implements of Doom Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week was 'Household Implements of Doom!'
http://b3ta.com/challenge/doom/

We asked Freddy Woo to judge the entries
  - here are his 3 faves.

  Freddy writes -

#1 "The Plate Swore Revenge" (by rogan) -
simple, silly, but funny and manages
     to give inanimate objects real
     character.
http://www.b3ta.com/board/2/8/7/3/5/3/

  #2 "Blue Ringed Octomop" (by indole_ring) -
lovely expression on this guy's face and
it's always good to see a new animal on
     b3ta.
http://www.b3ta.com/board/2/8/2/5/7/4/

  #3 "Domestic Anteater" (by dansegar) - I'm
gonna get me one of these... especially
as it's fully compatible (with ants)."

  >> This Week's Challenge <<

This week, B3ta contributor Shindig gave us
the suggestion, "The ungodly love child of
  X and Y."
