This is a question Bad Management

Tb2571989 says Bad Management isn't just a great name for a heavy metal band - what kind of rubbish work practices have you had to put up with?

i have worked for many bosses but my current boss is the worst boss
My boss is an extremely inept, patronising, ignorant, odious abortion of a person. I will be posting many stories here over the next week.

What follows is a recounting of a tale I posted elsewhere about a month or two ago. :

Because the election is around the corner, I am getting utterly depressed at my boss' loud opinions on why you are an idiot if you vote for any of the major three.

Some choice boss opinions.

- "You won't vote for UKIP here because you don't live in a real bad nig-nog area. If you lived in Birmingham, you'd be voting UKIP or BNP."

- "UKIP's vote will increase by 25% in this election, and the main three parties will definitely say "Oh, we'd better change our policies because the public clearly like UKIP's aims."
(This is how he thinks democracy works.)

- "Hey, if you vote for Lib Dems, that old school near you will become a mosque. Do you want that?"

- "If someone raped your daughter, you'd want them flogged, wouldn't you? You'd want to flog the fucker, but if you vote Liberal then you'll be saying [mong voice] OHHHH THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. [/mong voice] But there is! Get the bastard immigrants out!"
(Apparently only immigrants are rapists)

and, the crowning glory in his racist rant

- "Vote Lib Dems and you'll be living next door to a Turkish Muslim."

I posted the last comment on Twitter and someone replied with "I'd rather live next to a Turkish Muslim than your bastard boss."

I concur
Rather anyone than your boss. And rather a Turkish Muslim than most, as they're not likely to wake you up shouting at 4am, vomit in your shared hallway or do a number of other things that people tend to do when they haven't foresworn alcohol for religious reasons.

Your boss sounds like a grade A cunt....
On a similar racist work colleague note - I got into a bit of a "discussion" with someone similarly cuntish - and they used the entire "Do you want a Mosque on the corner of your street?" thing. They didn't seem to grasp the fact that I realy wouldn't have a problem with it.

Finsbury Park mosque
I used to live on the same street, within eyeshot of it. Which meant occasional cop-related disruption (although not nearly as much as from Arsenal home games...), a constant comedy procession of entertainingly-robed types, and the near-certainty that whichever bit of London might get blown up at any point, it wouldn't be anywhere near my house. Good times!

wow
... nice.

I do live just around the corner from a mosque.
The only downside is that the local grocery stores are full of the most delicious and varied foreign foods that you'd never find in a Tesco Metro... oh, wait, that's really not a problem at all, actually. Om nom nom date cakes.

I agree
Mind you, I'm one of those dirty inmigrants. I'd be careful if I was you, I could rape you.

The 2nd one
is how democracy works.
(, Thu 10 Jun 2010, 12:39, closed)
aside from the fact
the UKIP have little to no chance of getting 25% of any vote.
(, Thu 10 Jun 2010, 12:46, closed)
Quite.
But if all the hatstands like your boss bothered to vote, that is what would happen. The only way it wouldn't, would be if politicians had some values.

Ohhh, I got two modals next to each other in a sentence. I'm turning into a sceptic Septic.

ha
great reply. I think the good thing about bosses/cunts like this is that they think their vote counts whether they go to the polling station and cross the paper or not. He's so vocal about the BNP that he thinks the pencils cross the ballot paper telepathically, im sure.

25% of what?
If they got 2% of the vote a few weeks ago, then they got 2.5% next time, that's an increase of 25%.
(, Fri 11 Jun 2010, 14:13, closed)
but
it'd still only be 2.5% of the overall result.

Do you work for Richard Littlejohn?
Christ, he sounds like a piece of work. How do you put up with him?
(, Thu 10 Jun 2010, 13:21, closed)
often
he is worse than Littlejohn. I put up with him because I can't get another job and I need money. I have almost two year's worth of this idiotic bullshit hanging around, I'm trying to put a blog together with everything horrible he says, but it depresses me everytime I start it.

racist fucktards
Guy I've known for years, served as shop stewards together & everything, has started down this road in the last year. Banging on about asians (not his word...) taking over his section. I was literally speechless the first time - but not the second!
Still he's half dead, has zero influence and will probably be pensioned off within the year. Nonetheless, I feel your pain.

I live opposite a local Mosque
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it when I moved there a couple of months ago (though not for the same fucktard reasons as above; being an Asian woman and having been brought up in Islam myself, I was more concerned about being hit by radiation waves of judgment every time I opened my front door), but it's actually really nice. Apart from the fact that the regular comings and goings make my street very safe, seeing so many people leaving their houses at the same time to go to prayer makes it feel like a real community, in quite an old-fashioned way.

I do get a lot of sidelong glances, but nothing which causes me any problems.

On the delightful boss mentioned above, can you not at least try some stealth re-education about rapists? For a start?
